With reference to previous correspondence
relating to the Canton strike and boycott, I un
directed by Mr.Secretary Amery to transmit to you,
for the information of the Earl of Birkenhead, a copy
en No.144 of a Colonial Office print containing a selection of
despatches from the Gove nor of hong kong reporting
on the situation during the period 30th October 1925
to 29th April,1926.
2.
I am to invite attention particularly to tie
despatch from Sir R.E.Stubbo dated the 30th October
1925, submitting his final report on relinquishing the
Governorship of Hong Kong,end to the memorandus by
Dr.R.H.Kotewall, a Chinese member of the Legislative
Council, which he enclosed.
3. A further batch of despatches from the
Governor is beingprinted, and it is proposed also to
THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE,
INDIA OFFICE.
